Hi everyone, welcome back for another fishing report from Islamorada! I’ve said many times before that I love Spring fishing and this year has lived up to the billing. April fishing has been red hot on all fronts. The yellowtail snapper fishing has been great along with the mutton snappers. As we get closer to the full moon in May the big muttons should start showing up in numbers. May 1st also marks the opening of grouper season! We’ve released many big reds and black groupers over the last few weeks and it sure will be nice when we can start putting them in the box. The permit are around the wrecks along with amberjacks and some african pompano. The sailfishing has still been strong as well. On the offshore front the mahi fishing has been heating up with some nice catches being reported by the boats that have been venturing offshore. The football tunas have been on the humps with some bigger fish mixed in. If you are looking to try something different, sword fishing is another great option. There have been some giants caught lately so if you are looking for a true bucket list fish, this may be right up your alley. Islamorada offers such a variety of fish to catch, so come on down and book your next trip. We can make your dreams a reality!!!
